ASOCIACION EMPRESARIAL DE INVESTIGACION CENTRO TECNOLOGICO DEL MUEBLE Y LA MADERA DE LA REGION DE MURCIA

The Technological Centre of Furniture and Wood of the Region of Murcia (CETEM) is a private and non-profit association based in the municipality of Yecla, where one of the most important furniture clusters in Spain is concentrated. The origin of CETEM dates to 1994 thanks to the initiative of private companies with the initial support of the regional government, the Spanish Ministry of Industry and the European Union.

CETEM is formed by 42 professionals with different backgrounds such as engineering, technology transfer, business administration, chemistry, psychology, teaching, journalism, industrial design, etc.

Its creation in 1994 was promoted by the Institute Building of the Region of Murcia (INFO), the Regional Association of Employers of Wood (AREMA), the Technological Institute of Furniture (AIDIMA), the City Hall of Yecla, the Office of Industry and Tourism, the Ministry of Industry and Energy and the European Community.

CETEM is recognised as a Technology and Innovation Centre (CIT number 83) and as a Technology transfer office (TTO number 165).

CETEM mission is oriented to improve, favour, foster the continuous improvement and transfer any type of innovation to companies, primarily SMEs, while actively contributing to their socioeconomic development through consultancy services, R&D activities, and the organisation of training programmes tailored to the needs of the industry.
